After the Sorting Ceremony, it's time to retreat to the common room of your house.

Common room is the 9th Quest in the main storyline. You want to go to a common room of your house, but you need to ask how to get there first. Prefect standing at the end of your house's table will tell you. Speaking to the Weasley twins might be a good idea too! Members of each house need to speak to their respective prefects and travel to their respective common rooms.

Steps[]

  • Speak to the prefect of your house
  • Speak to one of the Weasley twins
  • Travel to your common room with the Marauder's Map

Conversation for Gryffindor students

Percy Weasley:
Hello there. I'm Percy Weasley, prefect and Head Boy of Gryffindor. Anyhow - I can help you with any questions you might have.
Congratulations on being sorted into Gryffindor!
Gryffindor House values the traits of courage, nerve, and chivalry.
Thus, Gryffindors are generally regarded as brave and daring.
The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries.
You are almost free to explore the castle now! First there are a few things I need to say though.
Your first lesson is Charms with Professor Flitwick which will unlock the 'Lumos' spell.
You can head over there right away, or explore the castle and its grounds first.
You'll find people around the castle with quests for you.
They'll have a ⁿ icon above their head so you can recognise them.
Good luck now.
I think Fred and George Weasley want to speak to you.
You can find them by the Gryffindor table.

Player: I'll find them. Thanks.
Fred Weasley / George Weasley:
Hey you! Yes, you! Come and join the big boys.
We have something we think you'll get a lot of use out of.
What's this?
Ha! What's this you say? That there is the secret to our success!
To tell the truth, it's a wrench giving it away, believe me!
Very useful in a tight spot, this. But we've decided - your needs are greater than ours.
We've already memorised its secrets, you see.
It's the Marauder's Map! This magical piece of parchment will reveal all of Hogwarts to you.
You can use it to travel about the castle and get to unlocked locations in no time.
This little beauty's taught us more than all the teachers at this school.
All you have to do to use it is tap your wand on it and say "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good".
And don't forget to wipe it after you've used it. Just tap it again and say, "Mischief managed!" and it'll go blank.
It's signed by Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs - we owe them so much.
Noble men, working tirelessly to help a new generation of law-breakers.
Well, see you around.
Player: Thanks!

Conversation for Ravenclaw students

Marcus Turner:
Hello there. I'm a prefect and can help you with any questions you might have.
Congratulations on being sorted into Ravenclaw!
Ravenclaw House prizes learning, wisdom, wit, and intellect in its members.
Thus, many Ravenclaws tend to be academically motivated and talented students.
They also pride themselves in being original in their ideas and methods.

Conversation for Hufflepuff students

Cedric Diggory:
Hello there. I'm a prefect and can help you with any questions you might have.
Congratulations on being sorted into Hufflepuff!
Students belonging to this house are known to be hard-working, friendly, loyal, honest and rather impartial.
Hufflepuffs are also usually accepting of everyone, and are not as competitive as the other houses, and are more modest about their accomplishments.

Conversation for Slytherin students

Gemma Farley:
Hello there. I'm a prefect and can help you with any questions you might have.
Congratulations on being sorted into Slytherin!
Slytherin House values cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and a certain disregard for the rules.
Its students tend to be ambitious, shrewd, cunning, strong leaders, and achievement-oriented.
