Flying is a great way to get around Hogwarts and the wizarding world. In this flying class taught by Madam Rolanda Hooch, you learn to fly on a broomstick. You can purchase a broomstick of your own in Diagon Alley.
Flying Lesson is the 16th quest in the main storyline. After taking your flying lesson, you can buy a broom and fly it whenever you want. Flying lesson is the only quest that lets you improve your time before finishing The Pensieve quest line.
Steps[]
- Find Madam Hooch by the Training Grounds
- Jump on a broom
- Speak to Madam Hooch
Conversation[]
Madame Hooch:
Welcome to your first flying lesson. Here, grab one of the school's training brooms. It's not very fast, but it'll be good enough for now.
Player:
Thanks!
Madame Hooch:
I've set up a trail for you to follow, so you can learn how to fly. See if you can make your way around the castle passing through all the flaming rings!
Well? What are you waiting for? Go to marked spot and we will get started.
Player:
I'll do that!
[——— After completion ———]
Madame Hooch:
Ok performance! I have to take back the training broom, but you can purchase a broom of your own in Diagon Alley. You can always come back when you have a broom of your own, and see if you can beat your best time around the course. Your next class is Charms with Professor Flitwick.
How to complete the quest[]
Speak to Madam Hooch. Open up your Inventory, select your broom and move it to quickslot. Select the slot with a broom, press Q to put it down inside 1st firing circle and hop on with right click. Use mouse wheel to adjust speed and cursor to steer. Fly through the firing circles and backtrack if you miss any. The rings play a sound effect when you successfully pass through them, but it is very soft, and you may want to turn up the volume. If you don't see firing circles, make sure your fire particles are on (Settings). At the end press SHIFT to dismount from your broom. Then speek to Madam Hooch.
