After locking their supply of Monster Book of Monsters in the cellar Broderick Bryce has had trouble retrieving some important papers.
Monster Book of Monsters is a side quest given by Broderick Bryce at the Second-Hand Bookshop in Diagon Alley. He will not give the quest until the player has completed the storyline quest, Alohomora. The task involves retrieving Broderick's notes from a room full of feral books.
Retrieving Broderick's notes involves solving a color combination lock by pulling chains on colored pillars. For anyone who requires color assistance: from the entrance, the nearest pillar on the left is blue, the nearest on the right is red. The far pillar on the left is green, while the far pillar on the back is orange.

- Go to the cellar of Second Hand Books
- Fight off the monster books and retrieve Broderick Bryce's papers
- Return to Broderick Bryce

Player: What's downstairs?
Broderick Bryce: Well, I'll tell you.
Believe it or not, but our collection has seen better days than this.
Those blasted 'Monster Book of Monsters' is what's down there.
Managed to chew their way through half our inventory before I got them all locked up downstairs.
Broderick Bryce: Flourish and Blotts doesn't stock 'The Monster Book of Monsters anymore, after the incident with the books attacking the manager.
So: I spotted an opportunity for profit. How young and naïve I was.
This has turned out worse than the time the entire stock of 'The Invisible Book of Invisibility' disappeared, I tell you.
Broderick Bryce: I even left some important papers down there and now I can't get to them.
Player: I could help you get the papers back.
Broderick Bryce: Really? Great!
The cellar is locked so you will need to use the spell 'Alohomora' to unlock the door.
Once you're down there, there are four chains on colored pillars that you can pull.
Broderick Bryce: There's a code to unlock the hidden room, where I keep the papers:
It's blue, red, orange, red, green, orange, red, blue, green.
Try to memorize that.
Broderick Bryce: I'll make sure to reward you if you bring back my papers.

How to Complete the Task[]
The player must unlock the basement door with Alohomora, then enter the room and pull the chains in the order indicated. Monster Books of Monsters will spawn in never-ending groups of three during the process, so the player should defend themselves with Stupefy or Bombarda Maxima only when necessary.
After entering the combination, a secret passage near the green pillar will open. The player can grab the papers from the chest and should run back to the door, unlock it again with Alohomora, and close it behind them.
